GRANITE

Granite is an igneous stone, also known as “Fire Rocks” which were formed by slowly cooling pockets of magma that were trapped beneath the surface of the earth. Granite is comprised mainly of quartz, mica and feldspar. Beautiful color variations come from assorted minerals that are melted into the magma.

Granite is the hardest of all building stones. The strength, versatility, and low maintenance makes granite a great choice for interior and exterior applications, especially countertops.

MARBLE

Marble is primarily composed of calcite (the mineral remains of marine organisms such as seashells and bones of sea creatures), and frequently contains impurities of such minerals as clay, sand, or iron, and these often contribute a unique texture of curls and veins that often show up quite vividly.

Although marble is often used in kitchen countertops, but due to its softness and porosity, it more often is used  in bathrooms, bar tops and table tops.

TRAVERTINE

Travertine is a sedimentary stone formed from the accumulation of organic elements similar to marble and limestone. This sediment is buried by other sediments and, after millions of years of pressure, the particles become cemented together to form solid rock, which is limestone. Formed in hot springs, where heated, the limestone dissolves. As trapped gases escape the stone, crystals are formed in the cavities forming the holes that are characteristic of travertine.
